Are Akzentz® Gels Safe?
Yes. Every formula is solvent-free, non-damaging, non-drying to the natural nails, cruelty-free, vegan, TPO-free (EU), 10-Free and the majority are HEMA-free. Each product is custom formulated to meet or exceed the most stringent global cosmetic safety standards.
What is 10-Free?
10-Free means our gels do not contain the following chemicals that are commonly found in nail products:
Formaldehyde, Toluene, Parabens, Camphor, Formaldehyde Resin, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Xylene, Phthalates, Triphenyl Phosphate (TPHP), Tert-Butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP), Ethyl Tosylamide
Are Akzentz® Gels HEMA-Free?
The majority of our collection is now HEMA-Free (see SDS Information for specifics). While “HEMA-Free” does not inherently mean a safer product, all Akzéntz gels are safe and non-damaging when professionally applied and properly cured.
Are Akzentz® Gels TPO-Free?
Yes – all Akzéntz gels for the EU market are TPO-Free to comply with the September 1 2025 requirements. See our TPO Resources for EU specific information.
Are Akzentz® Gels breathable?
While natural nails do not require oxygen, our porous soak-off systems allow for the natural flow of air and moisture.
Where are Akzentz® gels made?
Every product is meticulously formulated, tested, and manufactured in-house at our Vancouver, Canada facility. From raw ingredient to finished jar, each step is executed under one roof at our Canadian Head Office, Lab & Production Facility.
Why is Made in Canada important?
The importance lies in adhering to stringent health and safety regulations that may not be applicable or exist in the countries where many other gel products are manufactured.
Choosing Akzéntz ensures your products are compliant to the most rigorous safety standards, well researched and tested, and support ethical manufacturing and labour processes.
