PRODUCT SAFTEY
Are Akzentz® Gels Safe?
Akzentz gels are unique for being Solvent-Free, Cruelty-Free, Vegan, free from harmful additives, and 10-free. Additionally, we source our raw ingredients only from areas that have strict cosmetic regulations (Europe and North America). Our gels products are formulated to meet or exceed rigorous EU safety requirements.
What is 10-Free?
10-Free means our gels do not contain the following chemicals that are commonly found in nail products:
Formaldehyde, Toluene, Parabens, Camphor, Formaldehyde Resin, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Xylene, Phthalates, Triphenyl Phosphate (TPHP), Tert-Butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP), Ethyl Tosylamide
Are Akzentz® Gels HEMA-Free?
HEMA has gained prominence in the industry, but it’s important to note that a gel being HEMA-Free doesn’t necessarily make a safer or ‘Hypoallergenic’ product. In reality, no gel nail product can be labeled as completely Hypoallergenic. When correctly applied and cured by a professional nail technician, products containing HEMA within the safe range pose no additional risk. However, recognizing that HEMA-free has become a widely recognized for consumers, we have chosen to now market (and reformulate where necessary) most of our gels as HEMA-free.
Are Akzentz® Gels breathable?
Nails are made from keratin and do not need to ‘breathe’ – in fact clients who choose Akzentz gels often find the condition of their natural nails improve with the protective qualities our gels provide. However, our Soak-Off systems (Luxio®, Options™ and Gel Play™) are porous formulas that allow for the natural flow of both air and moisture through the product.
Where are Akzentz® gels made?
Every Akzéntz gel is produced at our manufacturing facility in Vancouver, Canada. When we state ‘Made in Canada,’ we want to emphasize that our products are made 100% in Canada – from raw ingredients using our proprietary formulations. It’s noteworthy that many brands source pre-made products from abroad, packaging them in their branded containers and attributing the manufacturing location to where the packaging process is completed, rather than acknowledging the actual origin of the product.
Why is Made in Canada important?
The importance lies in adhering to stringent health and safety regulations that may not be applicable or exist in the countries where many other gel products are manufactured. Choosing our products ensures compliance with rigorous standards, and supporting ethical manufacturing and labour processes.
